My Dad...
My dad is the picture of wisdom, integrity, and godliness to me. I love him and my mother more than words can express. He has dedicated his life to the service of God, family, and country in that order.
Over a year ago a man, for reasons I will not go into here, decided to threaten and slander my father. He spread numerous lies and untruths. He had done this once before but then recanted. He sent me an email in regards to his recantation and it is as follows:

My apology
Jason,
I'm not sure if your Dad has told you the details of what has been going on or the things that i said about him to [NAME WITHHELD], my parents and to my children.
I falsely assumed and accused your Father (my Pastor) of several issues regarding his character and his motives.
I have asked your Dad to forgive my wickedness and I want to ask you the same.
I don't know how I have come to the point where I am, but I must take full responsibility for all that has happened between [NAME WITHHELD] and I and your Dad.
For all these things I am both ashamed and sorry.
Please forgive me.
UPDATE:This man has since found that the restoration of his marriage was not possible. He has blamed my dad for his failures. He has published more than one website where he has accused my dad of outlandish and ridiculous actions. He has claimed publicly that my father is a fraud in regards to his educational credentials, even claiming that he "NEVER RECEIVED a Graduate Degree... NEVER GRADUATED from St. Louis University like he claims." To that, I will now respond.
I have personally attended every collegiate graduation ceremony my father ever received a degree from, save one. I was there as an infant when he received his Bachelor's Degree from Missouri Baptist College. I have the pictures. I have seen the degree hanging on the wall. I also recall the day in 1974 when my father received his degree from St. Louis University in Medieval History. In 2010, I personally contacted the St. Louis University to see if anybody calling could find out what degree a person (by name) held and when it was bestowed. They gave me all accurate information in regards to my father's degree. I was there when he received his Doctorate from Midwestern Baptist College. I was not there but I have seen and held his Doctorate degree from Temple.
I have personally sat under my father's teaching on the college level. I have seen him grade papers and prepare class material when he taught at Missouri Baptist College. For this man to claim my father has no education is insane. This man claims that he makes people call him "Doctor." This is an absurd lie. My dad is often referred to by "Pastor" or "Brother Curtman." My dad has never asked anyone to call him by any title. In fact, I recall as a child asking him if he wanted people to call him "Doctor" and he stated that it didn't matter to him.
While this man speaks of my father as a "fraud," it is he that is the actual fraud. If I were to publish his name here you could enter it into a search engine along with the words "Missouri Attorney General" to find that it is he who has been charged and sued for fraudulent practices.
This man is a hypocrite who has set out to destroy a faithful man of God. He has admitted in the past that he has lied and now he is lying again. To those of you who may find and read these slanderous lies, rest assured they are not based in fact. Please ignore them and know that my father is the man he has always been; a well respected pastor, husband, and father who is loved by all who truly know him as the faithful servant he is.
